New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has an ongoing program designed to help NYS agencies, schools, hospitals, commercial groups, and non-profit agencies improve their energy efficiency. The program operates on a cost-shared basis, where customers and NYSERDA work together to pay for energy-use consultations and recommendations. Recent organizations that have participated in this program include Protective Industries of Buffalo, West Seneca Schools, Moog Inc. in East Aurora, and North Tonawanda, Water Treatment Plant just to name a few. With this program, the energy-usage consultant was able to provide customers with recommendations to notably reduce their energy consumption, and help them develop plans for achieving their energy consumption and cost-reduction goals.
