Airlines throw away enough cans to build 58 Boeing 747 jets annually and enough newspapers and magazines to cover a football field 230 meters deep. Some airlines have implemented recycling programs to deal with the waste generated in-flight, but many airlines are still lagging behind in their recycling efforts.
