We can advise you of various options in this area and allow you to make informed decisions that will best maximize the long-term operating efficiency of the buildings, in balance with the desire to achieve Green Building objectives.
The USGBC has established a series of point systems which vary by project type (example: New Construction, Core & Shell, Commercial Interiors, Existing Buildings, etc). The design team works diligently to create a design that meets the goals of these points. LEED points are then administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) according to the various rating systems.

Within each of the point systems, there are prerequisites and credits. Prerequisites are a limited number of tasks which much be achieved if the building is to be certified (such as commissioning). Credits determine a project’s rating. Depending on the number of credits achieved, projects attain a rating of platinum, gold, silver or certified.
