LEED Nutrition Facts
LEED is a certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to measure green performance. It is a platform for which green buildings can be compared and recognized for their sustainable features. It consists of a series of rating systems based on use and construction type that assign point values to sustainable techniques and technologies used.

In a nutshell, LEED certification provides a benchmark for sustainability. USGBC provides a tool to not only develop a sustainable building, but to publicize the project as well.
