Kideney Architects utilized low/no VOC materials in this 3-story addition and renovation of BPS #76, Herman Badillo Bilingual Academy. Careful consideration was taken while designing the interior spaces, including classrooms, a new cafeteria, kitchen, and library.
Strategies for embracing natural ventilation include: using operable windows, orientating the building to receive prevailing breezes, cooling breezes with air flow over vegetation or water and the use of wind chimneys, atria and/or courtyards to induce natural air flow.
